A lot of the meals added in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ big new 2.0 update need flour or whole-wheat flour to make. Our Animal Crossing: New Horizons wheat and flour guide teaches you where to find wheat start to grow, and how to make flour and whole-wheat flour.
Where to find wheat in Animal Crossing
The easiest way to start your wheat farm is to buy Wheat Start from Leif. Either wait for him to visit your island (he’ll show up one day a week) or progress Harv’s co-op until Leif opens his stall in Harv’s Island Plaza.
Once you’ve got access to Leif, you’ll have to wait until his rotating stock includes Wheat Start. They’ll run you 280 bells each.
Your other option is take a lot of boat tours with Kapp’n. Each trip will cost you 1,000 Nook Miles. There’s a (very small) chance that you’ll go to an island where you’ll find wheat.
Flour and whole-wheat flour
To make Flour and Whole-Wheat Flour, you'll need a kitchen. You get a DIY recipe for a stonework kitchen (30 stone, 15 clay, 10 iron nuggets) when you unlock DIY Recipes+. Once you’re built it, visit your kitchen to make flour or whole-wheat Flour with 5 wheat each.
